1998年，举全县之力，产能15万吨/日的双闸水源厂一期工程建成。从此，君住长江头，我住长江尾，共饮长江水，江宁水务供水事业迈上了快速发展的道路；2000年，江宁撤县设区，江宁县自来水总公司变更为南京市江宁区自来水总公司；2005年，江宁区自来水总公司搬迁至高湖路88号。2008年， 30万吨/日的双闸水源厂二期工程建成；2010年，产能45万吨/日的滨江水厂一期工程建成；2018年，产能45万吨/日的滨江水厂二期工程开始建设——不尽长江滚滚来，为江宁人民的用水和经济的发展，插上了腾飞的翅膀，并且惠泽句容、溧水部分区域。
